Job Description

We are seeking a Test Planning Engineer to join our team in Auburn Hills. In this role, you will define and manage integrated test plans for vehicle programs to ensure design validation robustness and compliance with program timelines. You will play a critical role in coordinating testing activities and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support successful propulsion system launches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and manage propulsion vehicle test plans aligned with program milestones and timing.

  • Ensure robustness and completeness of propulsion vehicle-level testing through collaboration with engineering teams.

  • Collect propulsion vehicle DVP&Rs from engineering groups to support full-vehicle development and validation.

  • Support Technical Manager with prototype vehicle and part requirements.

  • Lead efforts (with support from propulsion management) to optimize vehicle counts for testing.

  • Prioritize vehicle builds in conjunction with vehicle ITPL and test plan needs.

  • Analyze changes in program scope/timing and mitigate impact on testing and vehicle requirements.

  • Coordinate and manage propulsion vehicle usage throughout all test phases.

  • Process vehicle orders based on DVP&R and test planning.

  • Determine and order dynamometer adaptation components.

  • Identify required parts and initiate orders to support cell setup.

  • Track and manage part orders and bench test requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

  • 3–5 years of experience in propulsion, powertrain systems, electrified systems, or bench testing.

  • Strong analytical skills; ability to synthesize complex data.

  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and management.
