Role Summary Company: MANN+HUMMEL Location: Portage As a Test Technician, you will plan, set up, and execute laboratory testing activities while supporting engineers by ensuring accurate test procedures, equipment setup, documentation, and maintenance of a safe, organized testing environment. Main Tasks Key Responsibilities Plan, organize, and execute laboratory testing activities in accordance with test protocols, engineering drawings, diagrams, and specifications. Prepare work areas for testing, set up required equipment, and ensure all activities follow established procedures. Set up and modify test fixtures as required, including basic fixture fabrication when necessary. Develop and maintain sample tracking methods to ensure proper identification and traceability. Perform preventive maintenance and calibration on assigned laboratory equipment within technical capability. Maintain accurate test records and prepare supporting documentation and reports as needed. Communicate test status and results effectively to test engineers and cross-functional engineering teams. Maintain testing equipment and organize test fixtures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure lab environment. Operate basic hand tools (wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, etc.). Lift up to 50 lbs regularly and move objects up to 100 lbs as needed. Education High School Diploma or GED required; college or vocational coursework preferred. Experience Minimum of 1 year of relevant hands‑on experience. Required Skills & Qualifications Understanding of test methods, test setup, tools, materials, and the ability to analyze and interpret results. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Ability to use basic hand tools safely and effectively. Completion of New Employee Orientation and Quality Systems Overview training (plus additional department‑required training). Preferred Qualifications Experience repairing or maintaining cars, trucks, or motorcycles is highly desired. #J-18808-Ljbffr
