Purpose of Position

The Testing Specialist in Testing Services is responsible for providing support and assistance for Testing Services functions. The person in this position serves as a key staff member in administering and providing communication for standardized and academic testing. This position is responsible for troubleshooting any technical issues of standardized systems. In addition, the testing specialist will provide support in data collection for all areas of testing services. This position will also proctor testing and complete day-to-day duties and responsibilities to serve the University with efficient testing service. The position will report to the Tutoring and Testing Coordinator, who reports to the Director of Student Academic Success, housed in Student Academic Success and Career Engagement, within the Division of Academic Affairs.

Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee standardized and University testing systems (ie. Prometric, Pearson Vue, Collegeboard, TD, etc.)
Oversee testing services processes, procedures and part time staff. Tasks involved in fulfilling the following duties/responsibilities:
Supervise receipt of payment for testing services rendered, including Marketplace
Supervise multiple part time staff who work in the testing center. Provide regular feedback based on position description
Reconcile billings and payment from testing companies for services received
Follow established payment procedures
Review invoices for test materials ordered and report to supervisor
Collect data and oversee data entry
Oversee completion of data analysis needed for developing reports and monitoring progress
Prepare data and information as requested for annual report and supervisor and division needs
Maintain confidential student data in a secure location and destroy according to established procedures
Required Competencies
Demonstrated ability in researching and solving problems, sound decision making, and critical thinking skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks; strong organizational and attention to detail skills
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite software, email, and database software
Ability to use various computer systems to administer online exams, record results, and submit reports
Strong customer service orientation
Self-starter, motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment that is focused on student success
Proven ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with faculty, staff, students, general public, and testing agencies

Minimum Requirements
Bachelors Degree
One year experience in an educational setting
One year experience in customer service environment (ex. testing center, retail, front desk experience, i.e. hotels, medical facility, on call customer service and support)
US Resident or holder of a Permanent Residency Card (for IRS background check for certain tests administered at the center)
Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
