This role involves taking full ownership of thermal systems, resolving technical challenges from first principles, and ensuring seamless integration with surrounding systems to optimize the performance of advanced propulsion technologies.Key Responsibilities:Develop CAD models, detailed engineering drawings, and apply GD&T principles.Design and model thermal systems, predicting behavior and transient responses.Specify and size fluid system components, including pumps, heat exchangers, and valves.Optimize components using hand calculations and CFD analysis.Analyze heat loads, conduction paths, and interface temperatures, anchoring models with test data.Present design reviews and technical findings to the team.Assemble prototypes, establish test protocols, and analyze performance data.Identify and resolve thermal system issues effectively.Key Qualifications:5 - 15 years of hands-on experience with thermal and fluid systemsMust be designers first and have direct experience owning thermal/fluid system design (coolant loops and oil circuits) including pump, heat exchanger, and component selectionExperience designing and analyzing thermal systems using CFD and 1D network modeling tools. Strong mechanical design background, not purely analysis; should be hands-on and comfortable designing for real-world hardware environments.Prior ownership of end-to-end hardware lifecycle — from concept and CAD to prototyping, testing, and iteration.Informed on instrumentation types and limitations, with ability to model-anchor with test dataHigh agency: Takes initiative for continuous improvement (not just completing assigned tasks)By applying to this role you understand that we may collect your personal data and store and process it on our systems.
