GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Performs routine (journey-level) warehouse and inventory work for the state-operated high-security juvenile correctional facilitys warehouse. The warehouse inventory includes clothing and other supplies for day-to-day living for youth assigned to the facility, perishable food supplies, security equipment, and office supplies. Work involves stocking, arranging, and transferring inventory; maintaining accurate inventory controls and adequate stock levels; and monitoring compliance with established security requirements and loss prevention controls. Works under moderate supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. May be required to work in excess of 40 hours per workweek.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship) (20%)

Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store) (10%)

Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits (10%)

Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization (20%)

Complete daily logs for inventory (5%)

Report any discrepancies (5%)

Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers (10%)

Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment (10%)

Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations (10%)

Reports any presence or perception of racial, ethnic, and/or gender disparities.

Performs a variety of related duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.

Performs all duties in compliance with agency safety policies and procedures:

  • Reports safety hazards and corrects hazards when possible.
  • Completes required documentation in the event of an accident/injury within requested time frames.

Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency attendance and leave policies.


Qualifications


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent. Some experience in inventory stocking, inventory control and computer related skills.

Note: Any degree, diploma, high school equivalent, or course hours required to meet minimum qualifications must be from an accredited educational institution.
