Summary:
Provides evidence-based tobacco treatment services, consisting of cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and medication education and support, to individuals and groups of patient who have been diagnosed with cancer, virtually, over the telephone and in person, using approved tobacco treatment manuals and protocols. Administers biopsychosocial assessments, schedules appointments, organizes treatment groups, provides treatment sessions, and supports and communicates with the cancer care team. Helps individuals manage thoughts of suicide, other substance use disorders, mental health disorders, family conflicts, marital problems, stress management, and issues associated with aging, cancer, and physical and emotional health in the context of tobacco use and cancer treatment and recovery. This position is full-time in-person on the Roswell Park downtown campus.

Salary range for this position is $63,108 - $80,248 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience

License/Certification
Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC); or
Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)

Education and Experience
Masters degree in mental health counseling, counseling psychology, marriage and family therapy, substance use treatment, or a related field and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in counseling.

NOTE:
1. Incumbents must have a successful completion of the provided accredited Tobacco Treatment Specialist (TTS) training and obtain national TTS certification within one (1) year of appointment as a condition of continued employment.
2. Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
The preferred candidate will have experience administering biopsychosocial assessments, experience with electronic Medical Records/Electronic Health Records, experience working as a member of treatment teams and delivering group and individual treatment. In addition they will have knowledge of cognitive behavioral treatment, knowledge of motivational interviewing, experience providing treatment for substance use disorders and experience managing a clinician schedule.
