Landscape Products Inc. is seeking an experienced Injection Mold Maker to join our team. As an Injection Mold Maker, you will be responsible for creating, repairing, and maintaining precision molds used in the injection molding process for manufacturing plastic products. The role requires technical expertise in mold design, machining, assembly, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate should have a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with various tools and machinery.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in mold making, preferably in the injection molding industry.
Apprentice with 2-3 years of experience may be considered DOE.
Proven experience with CNC machining, tool and die making, and mold assembly.
Work Environment:
Work is typically performed in air conditioned Manufacturing or workshop setting.
Exposure to loud noise, dust, and potential hazards from machinery.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection is required.
Responsibilities:
Mold Design and Fabrication:
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to create molds.
- Select appropriate materials for mold components based on product specifications and production requirements.
- Operate CNC machines, lathes, grinders, and other equipment to fabricate mold components.
- Assemble mold components with high precision to ensure proper function and quality.
Mold Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform regular maintenance on injection molds to prevent wear and tear.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with molds and perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Modify existing molds to improve performance or to accommodate new product designs.
Quality Control:
- Conduct rigorous inspections and tests to ensure molds meet quality standards and specifications.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to verify the accuracy of mold components.
- Document and report any discrepancies or issues found during inspections.
Process Optimization:
- Collaborate with engineers and production teams to improve mold designs and manufacturing processes.
- Implement best practices for mold making to enhance efficiency and reduce production costs.
- Stay updated on advancements in mold-making technology and techniques.
Requirements
- Proficiency in 1 or more of the following (disciplines /Skillsets)
- CAD/CAM – VMC – HSM – WEDM – EDM - Laser Welding - Surface Grinding
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) as needed.
- Prolonged periods standing and working with machinery.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Be able to function in a fast-pace environment
