Custom Sheet Metal Manufacturing Company seeking a Tool Designer II to join our growing team at our facility in Mendota Heights, MN. This role is responsible for supporting advanced tool design and manufacturing operations. This role leads complex tool & die projects and mentors junior team members while ensuring high-quality, cost-effective production. Responsibilities Design complex tool & die solutions, including progressive dies, weld fixtures, assembly fixtures, and inspection fixtures. Create 3D models, blueprints, and flat blanks (SolidWorks/LogoPress required; Cadkey a plus). Oversee fabrication, material selection, prototyping, and testing. Review customer drawings and RFQs for manufacturability and cost. Collaborate with CNC, EDM, Press Brake, Quality, and Toolmakers. Manage project timelines, documentation, and budgets. Qualifications 5–7+ years of tool & die design experience in manufacturing. Strong knowledge of machining, stamping, laser cutting, and molding processes. Proficient in blueprint reading with GD&T. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
