Qualifications Must be able to work to the companies Safety, ABS/EHS Rules Ability to trouble-shoot and solve problems of the most advanced level Must possess a working knowledge of sheet metals and steel alloys Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to complete routine documentation Ability to speak clearly and effectively with managers, supervisors and coworkers Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Tool Room Environment Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (ie "Green Card Holder"), Political Asylee, or Refugee | Responsibilities Performs the layout fabrication trouble shooting of all types of tools, dies, and tooling Develops new products using various steel types and carbide materials Employee will be held to established quality standards working to theCompanies safety policies Will have moderate control to perform adjustments to the Die process after tasks are assigned by the area lead Sets up and runs various machines, including but not limited to, conventional lathes and mills, and surface grinders and all Tool room equipment Determines the layout, fabrication and assembly of all types and sizes of tooling as required This includes when necessary supplementing information given on the tool design drawings or improvising tool and dies for which no tool design drawings are available to follow Performs typical layout operations in connection with the layout of details for tooling, machine or other tool fabrication, and the layout of parts such as sheet metal parts to use as a guide in making the tool or die Makes completely, to exacting tolerances for tools and dies and tooling fixtures for modifications from production prints, tool prints or verbal instructions Proves dies and tooling and performs rework in the same level of difficulty as other work described herein Suggests revisions in design and/or substitution in material Utilizes complete knowledge of prints, work orders, machinist handbooks, trigonometry, precision measuring instruments and hand tools Recommends tool fabricating procedures such as EDM, centerless, I.D., O.D. grinding and other specialized machining techniques Utilizes extensive knowledge in application of all types of manufacturing techniques pertaining to Stamping Dies both single and progressive dies Sets up and operates all shop machines as required Works as a Team to share knowledge as needed to improve the process and quality Builds Tooling when needed from blueprints, sketches and verbal instructions Parts to be lifted and/or transported may weigh up to 30 lbs Keeps work area and equipment clean, safe and in an orderly fashion on a daily basis to meet the 5s program Performs other tasks of equal or lesser skill as required |
