Our top banking client is seeking a Trade Finance Analyst to join their team in Jersey City, New Jersey. This position will join the Banks Settlement Operations Group. This is an on-site position out of Jersey City, NJ, for the first 6-months and then will become hybrid (1-day a week on-site).

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership:
    • Manage and lead the Trade Operations team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
    • Motivate and develop team members, providing ongoing coaching and training.
    • Set clear goals and objectives for the team and ensure alignment with departmental and company-wide strategies.
    • Track team performance against targets and metrics, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Trade Operations Management:
    • Oversee daily controls and processes related to all trade operations transactions.
    • Ensure strict adherence to trade finance regulations, including ISP98, UCP 600, URC 522, OFAC, EAR, and anti-boycott compliance.
    • Review and approve Letters of Credit (L/C) documents, performing a second check for accuracy and completeness.
    • Process and release payments in tranches according to trade finance agreements.
  • Reporting & Analysis:
    • Prepare comprehensive and accurate quarterly and annual reports for the Trade Finance department.
    • Analyze trade operations data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
    • Develop and implement strategies to optimize trade finance processes and increase efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, International Trade, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in trade finance operations, with a proven track record of success in managing a team.
  • Strong working knowledge of trade finance products, instruments, and regulations, including ISP98, UCP 600, URC 522, OFAC, EAR, and anti-boycott compliance.
  • Experience with trade finance systems and software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
