Join to apply for the TRAINER PRODUCTION 3 / MACHINING role at Newport News Shipbuilding, A Division of HII . This is a full‑time position with 1st shift, 10‑25% travel, relocation assistance available, and no telework eligibility. Position Summary Performs on‑the‑job training, skills training, and some classroom training in assembly and production areas. Participates in the development and implementation of new training programs and may introduce new processes and sequences for manufacturing areas. Maintains rosters of training progress, examination records, and certification records and may monitor trainees. Responsibilities Provide marine machinist basic and advanced skills training. Complete 2 to 3 months of on‑site train‑the‑trainer assignment in Newport News, VA. Must Have High School/GED and 5 years of additional education and/or experience. Nice to Have Thorough knowledge of marine machinist skills (precision measurement, drilling and tapping). Ability to communicate effectively with adult learners and to maintain good relationships with staff and students. Flexibility to work different shifts. Requirements US Citizenship required. Full‑time, 1st shift. 10–25% travel. Relocation assistance available. Not eligible for telework. Clearance not required to start.
