️ Training Coordinator / Welding Inspector Palatka, Florida (On-site) Second Shift | Monday–Thursday | 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM Permanent | Full Benefits | Bonus PotentialA leading U.S. structural steel fabricator with over a century of heritage and major operations across the Midwest and Southeast is seeking a Training Coordinator / Welding Inspector to support its bridge fabrication facility in Palatka.Specialising in complex bridge structures — from plate girders to trusses and cable-stayed systems — the business holds advanced certifications through the American Institute of Steel Construction, including fracture-critical and sophisticated paint endorsements.This is a high-impact role focused on elevating workforce capability, safety performance, and fabrication quality standards. The OpportunityReporting to the Plant Manager, you will take ownership of training strategy and technical competency across fabrication operations. This is a visible, shop-floor-facing position requiring strong weld knowledge and the credibility to influence experienced tradespeople.Core ObjectivesDevelop and implement structured fabrication training programsEnsure workforce competency in weld procedures and blueprint readingMaintain compliance with industry standards and internal policiesEmbed measurable training metrics and documentation controls Key ResponsibilitiesConduct facility-wide training needs assessmentsDesign and update training manuals, SOPs, and materialsDeliver classroom and hands-on shop floor trainingCoordinate training schedules to avoid production disruptionTrack certifications, attendance, and compliance documentationEvaluate program effectiveness and implement improvementsPartner with Production, Quality, Safety, and HR teams What We’re Looking ForSeveral years of hands-on structural steel or heavy fabrication experienceStrong working knowledge of weld procedures and inspection fundamentalsBlueprint reading expertiseExperience with oxy-fuel torches and fabrication tools3–5+ years delivering training within manufacturing or constructionSolid understanding of adult learning principlesConfident communicator who can engage shop floor teams and leadershipMicrosoft Office proficiencyAbility to work second shift Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salary (DOE)Bonus (last year paid ~12.5%)Relocation assistance availableRetirement plan including pension + 401(k)Medical, dental, visionCompany-paid life & disability insuranceUniforms, PPE, and boot allowanceVacation eligibility from month one Why This Role?Direct influence on workforce skill developmentKey role supporting complex bridge fabrication projectsStable manufacturing environment with long-term project pipelineStrong safety-first cultureOpportunity to shape operational excellence at plant level
