JOB SUMMARY
The Training Specialist is responsible for overseeing and delivering New Employee Orientation (NEO) during the crucial first week of onboarding, as well as ongoing training throughout the initial months of employment. This role facilitates engaging training sessions, coordinates onboarding logistics, and ensures compliance with organizational standards. The Training Specialist plays a key role in welcoming new team members, supporting departmental training initiatives, and driving employee engagement and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate engaging and interactive New Employee Orientation (NEO) sessions
- Conduct and promote training sessions across departments
- Coordinate onboarding schedules and logistics, including presentations, guest speakers, and technology setup
- Gather feedback on onboarding experience and refine NEO program based on insights
- Collaborate with leadership teams to align onboarding with departmental goals and ramp-up timelines
- Work closely with Maintenance team on training initiatives
- Deliver mandatory compliance training and ensure completion of required certifications
- Track onboarding metrics and measure effectiveness of training in driving engagement and productivity
- Introduce speakers and trainers during sessions and provide direction to attendees
- Support scheduling and classroom management for orientations of 50+ candidates weekly
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or related field OR 3–5 years of manufacturing experience
- Willingness to consider new graduates
- Proven experience in training facilitation, instructional design, or employee development
- Strong communication and presentation skills with ability to engage diverse audiences
- Knowledge of onboarding best practices and adult learning principles
- Proficiency in training technologies and tools (e.g., LMS systems, presentation software)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
- Adaptability, creativity, and high attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
