Qualifications A Training Specialist should possess an associate degree or higher in a Human Services Field and at least one year of experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities. This position requires excellent communication skills, experience in public speaking, and proficiency in delivering specialized training to groups. A clean and valid New York State Driver License and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word are required; other computer skills are a plus. Job Details Salary range: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00. Reports to The Training Coordinator. Essential Functions Assist residential management teams in developing and implementing in-program training systems for new and veteran staff. Visit, observe and provide in-the-moment feedback and training to residential management teams and staff in key programmatic areas. Function as a key member of the Training department, contributing to the development of staff education and resources. Through collaboration with various departments, identify gaps and training needs within the organization. Assist with the development and serve as key implementor of a coaching/mentorship program within residential and day services. Assist with orientation activities with the Training Coordinator. Ensure that 30‑day conversations between new staff and supervisors are completed, logged into the tracking system, and any issues followed up. Ensure that 3‑month post-orientation evaluations are completed by supervisors and logged into the tracking system. Assist with the development and implementation of team‑building activities. Maintain certification and lead classes as an agency CPR instructor. Maintain certification and lead classes as an agency SCIP instructor. Pursue certification as a defensive driving instructor. Additional Functions Participate in staff in‑service training programs as required. Ensure there is consistency and integration of training platforms across all disciplines. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements Occasional standing and walking. Frequent driving. Frequent sitting and computer work. #J-18808-Ljbffr
