Transmission EngineerOnsite: Maitland, FLContract to HireThe Transmission Engineer will work with the transmission team in assisting project teams in creating world-class designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments on a variety of projects, including underground and overhead high-voltage transmission lines. They will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting transmission line plans according to budget constraints, design factors, or client needs.Responsibilities:Assist in the transmission line design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.Modify and review production drawings for a variety of projects involving high-voltage (69-500kV) transmission lines.Design transmission line components for project needs and requirements, including plan and profile drawings, structure load diagrams, and foundation drawings.Apply basic knowledge of commonly used civil and structural engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures.Conduct research and compile project-related data as required by project managers.Compile studies and reports.Correct and update drawings provided by senior engineers within multiple CAD-related software programs.Assist with client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration for high-voltage transmission line designs.Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients.Comply with all company policies and standards.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (Required), orBachelor’s degree in Civil or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program with successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam (Required).Basic knowledge of standard civil/structural engineering techniques, principles, and procedures.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.Demonstrated critical thinking skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Basic knowledge of software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, BIM (Revit), Civil 3D, PLS, PLS-CADD, RISA-3D, MathCAD.3-6 Years of Transmission ExperienceStrong attention to detail, facilitation, team-building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e., without time limitations, restrictions, or work sponsorship).Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification (Preferred).ABOUT EIGHT ELEVEN:At Eight Eleven, our business is people.
