ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As a Transportation Permit Specialist you will have the opportunity to work on a small diverse team that is responsible for administering permits for over dimensional and overweight tractor trailers. These movements require special assistance and directions to move safely throughout the state.

What you get to do:

  • Review oversize and overweight permits for accuracy and completeness.
  • Review oversize and overweight permits for routes and restrictions to ensure safetravel throughout the state.
  • Review oversize and overweight permits to ensure compliance with current rules and laws.
  • Provide customer support to commercial carriers requiring permit status and updates.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • -OR -
  • Graduation from an accredited college with an associate degree plus two years of increasingly responsible experience.
  • - OR -
  • Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school plus four years of increasingly responsible experience.

Experience:

  • Motor carrier permit registration experience preferred.
  • Customer Service experience required.
  • Analytical experience related to determining compliance with state and federal rules, regulations, or related standards preferred.
  • Experience with Transportation or Logistics Operations to include freight movement and tracking (heavy haul and permit purchasing) helpful.
  • Data and systems experience preferred.
  • Experience with permit management and permit routing software preferred.
  • GIS tools experience preferred.
  • Work Location: On-site 100%
