The primary responsibility is to lead and supervise driver associates to achieve superior customer service and KPI goals.Daily execution of the operating plan, equipment utilization, safety, hours of service, and fuel efficiencyUse and ensure TruckMate and PeopleNet systems are updated accurately and promptlyPrimary on-site supervisor to solve customer service, equipment, driver, and warehouse issuesAssists the Operations Manager with managing warehouse and transportation operationsAdministrative functions such as billing, invoicing, and driver payMaintain compliance with all DOT and company safety regulationsBack up driver for non-DOT, 26-foot box truckSafely drive a commercial motor vehicle (Box Truck)Safely Operate a Lift GateOur Ideal Candidate Will HaveHigh School diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of 3-5 years leading and supervising drivers in a truckload, LTL or parcel environment preferredAbility to build credible relationships with drivers and lead in a dynamic, fast-paced, hands-on environmentAbility to evaluate alternatives to make the best overall value decisions considering cost, customer expectations, driver needs and other factorsDemonstrated analytical ability, attention to detail, and strong computer skillsAbility to function in a high-stress environment and deal with a variety of issues in situations where only limited standardization existsSolid judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skillsProven record of taking initiative and responsibility, both individually and as a member of a team12 months experience driving a Box Truck within the last 3 yearsValid Driver's LicenseClass A CDL or Class B License is optional21 years of age or olderAbility to pass a road testAbility to obtain a DOT medical cardAbility to learn and become an accomplished user in transportation management and other systemsAbility to write routine reports and correspondence in a professional mannerAbility to load and unload freight at assigned locationsAbility to maintain all DOT required documentationAbility to adhere to DOT Rules and RegulationsAbility to lift and/or carry up to 25 lbs. and push/pull up to 50 lbs.It Would Be Even Better If You HaveBachelor's DegreeLean Six Sigma and/or continuous improvement training and experienceBenefits:Benefits package including medical, dental, vision, HSA, and medical reimbursementAnnual bonus eligibility401(k) matchVacation and holiday payEmployee assistance and identity theft protectionCareer development and opportunity for internal promotionsTuition reimbursement for further educationCompany paid life insurance and short term disabilitySaddle Creek is an Equal Opportunity employer and an Affirmative Action employer, as required by law.
