The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for assisting management in the supervision of drivers and staff of the Transportation Department.On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of product from the Distribution Center in Tolleson to all company owned stores in the Southwest.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Communicating to the workforce ways to promote a safe work environmentImplementing cost-saving measures through working closely with drivers, dispatchers, and software vendorsManaging equipment and manpower requirements for daily operational needsMonitoring employees' daily work assignments and spearheading safety initiatives for the departmentWe are looking for candidates who possess the following:2-year college degree, Bachelors preferred or 5 years progressive trucking experience2 to 5 years of proven supervisory experienceStrong knowledge of Department of Transportation laws and regulationsKnowledge of HOS and Dispatching routing systems, MOBI and Prospero experience are a plusFamiliar with a union work environment and time and attendance procedures and requirementsHigh degree of initiative and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and WordExcellent oral and written communication skillsPossess transportation experience including loading of trailers and store delivery proceduresPossess basic knowledge of schedule function.
