American Traveler is seeking a CT Technologist for a variable-shift contract at a small teaching hospital in Maine, primarily working in X-Ray with rotation into CT Scan.
Details- 89-bed acute care teaching hospital setting with 1 CT room
- Primary work in X-Ray with rotation into CT Scan
- Serves ED, outpatient, and inpatient populations, primarily adult and geriatric with some pediatric patients
- Outpatient cases include oncology, general abdominal pain, post-surgical, and trauma
- Average of 25–30 scans per day
- Biopsy procedures performed (training provided, prior experience not required)
- Uses Siemens X.Cite and GE 16-slice PET CT (used as backup), PACS: Enterprise Imaging AGFA, EMR: Cerner
- Variable shifts across a 24/7 department — specific shifts (days or nights) will vary based on need throughout the contract
- Weekend rotation varies based on departmental need
- No call required
- Holiday coverage done in rotation with other techs
- 40 hours per week
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in CT/X-Ray; more experience preferred
- Current BLS required
- ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT) required
- Maine state license or compact license required — license required if applicable
- Experience with CTA studies and general imaging studies
- Proficiency with IV starts preferred
- Experience with biopsy procedures preferred
- Experience with Toshiba, GE, or Siemens equipment preferred
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- 2 professional references within the past year required, with at least one from a Supervisor, Manager, or Director (Charge Nurse acceptable; peer references not accepted)
- Copies of all certifications required for consideration
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Full SSN required for consideration
- Flu vaccination required for clearance to start
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Orientation is 1–1.5 weeks depending on experience and comfort level
- Supported by a Lead Tech, on-site Radiologist, and internal transport; 2 techs on weekdays and evenings, 1 tech on weekends
- Candidates must permanently reside 100+ miles south/southwest of Bangor, ME to be eligible; travelers residing 100+ miles north may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Candidates who have previously worked at any Northern Light Health Hospital in a permanent capacity are not eligible
- All RTO requests require manager approval and must be submitted at the time of consideration
- Scrubs may be any solid, professional color; facility-provided scrubs available if needed
