\n\nJob Description\nWe are seeking an experienced Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) Nurse to provide care for critically ill patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiac care, including experience with ECMO, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, and managing Post Cardiac Surgery patients. Additionally, candidates will be expected to float between various Cone Health campuses as needed.
\n\nResponsibilities\n- \n
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the SICU. \n
- Monitor and manage patients with complex cardiac issues. \n
- Administer medications, including IV insulin and vasoactive drips. \n
- Assist with procedures such as chest tube insertions and ventilator management. \n
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. \n
- \n
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit. \n
- BLS and ACLS certifications required. \n
- Experience with EKG interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. \n
- Evidence of proficiency in critical care procedures and patient management. \n
- Valid nursing license in North Carolina, with EPIC experience preferred. \n
