\n Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) travel assignment in Artesia, NM (88210) — 13-week night shift role for experienced Emergency Department (ED) nurses with strong trauma and critical-care skills. Join our team and make a meaningful impact in a community hospital pursuing Level IV Trauma designation.\n

  • Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed\n
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130\n
  • Start Date: March 30, 2026\n
  • Care Setting: Acute care Emergency Room — 5-bed ER with 2 trauma bays\n
  • Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend; may be asked to participate in holiday rotation\n
\n\nJob Requirements / Qualifications\n
    \n
  • Minimum 5 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience required — trauma and critical care experience strongly preferred\n
  • Active RN license: New Mexico or compact (multistate) RN license accepted\n
  • Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NRP, NIHSS\n
  • Proficient with mixing and titrating critical drips (e.g., Amiodarone, Cardizem, Epinephrine, Insulin)\n
  • Strong critical thinking, triage, and independent decision-making skills\n
  • Experience from trauma Level 1 or Level 2 EDs accepted\n
  • First-time travel nurses welcome — travel nurse and travel RN applicants encouraged to apply\n
  • Completion of hospital orientation modules (approx. 20 hours) prior to floor assignment\n
\n\nResponsibilities\n
    \n
  • Provide high-quality emergency nursing care across a wide range of diagnoses from minor injuries to major trauma\n
  • Assess, triage, and manage patients in a small, fast-paced ED environment\n
  • Mix, titrate, and monitor critical drips per protocol\n
  • Read and interpret telemetry and 12-lead EKGs to guide clinical decisions\n
  • Collaborate closely with ED physicians, techs, EMS, and interdisciplinary hospital staff to optimize patient flow\n
  • Assist with EMS coordination, trauma activations, and rapid patient disposition\n
  • Complete department orientation and required competency modules prior to clinical shifts\n
  • Maintain professional appearance and compliance with dress code (navy blue scrubs; jackets without hoods)\n
