Emergency Room Nurse
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Nurse for a travel contract position in Fort Defiance, AZ. Our dynamic Emergency Department features an 11-bed Main ED, 6-bed Fast Track, and 7-bed Observation Unit. Nurses will rotate through these areas and assist in Triage, Quick Registration, Covid Tent, and Entry Screening. The blend of high patient volume and the variety of responsibilities keeps each day engaging. This Night Shift opportunity (typically 7 on, 7 off) offers a competitive weekly compensation of $2,520 over a 13-week contract. Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of experience and must hold current BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC, and conscious sedation certifications (with the possibility of obtaining via the facility post-hire). DESCRIPTION: Our Emergency Department consists of 11 bed Main ED, 6 bed ED Fast Track, and 7 bed ED Observation Unit. All ED nurses are expected to rotate through each of these areas regularly. In addition, nurses are assigned to Triage, Quick Registration, Covid Tent, and Entry Screening. Nurses can expect to be assigned a different area at minimum daily, and may be rotated during their shift, depending on the patient volume and needs of the unit. May be assigned to assist with Covid testing and/or immunization clinics as needed.
SHIFTS: Night Shifts positions with a maximum of one (1) RTO, if needed. Shifts may change, and may need to cover day shift or mid shift as facility does rely heavily on contractors so as one leaves someone’s shift may change to accommodate their staffing needs. Schedule is typically 7 on, 7 off with 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next. Travelers are occasionally expected to float to other departments in which they are qualified to work. This could include taking a patient load if experienced and competent in that setting or could be task-oriented such as answering call lights, phones, etc.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: Must have American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC, and conscious sedation certification (Obtained through facility after confirmation-$105 fee)
