American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Level 1 OB unit, requiring OB experience and the ability to flex between L&D and Mother Baby on a nights/weekends-only schedule.
Details- Work in an 18-bed LDRP unit with 4 triage beds and 2 ORs at a Level 1 OB facility with a Level 1 Nursery
- Responsibilities include circulating and recovering C-sections; ability to scrub C-sections is a plus but not required
- Patient ratios are 1:1 or 1:2 depending on acuity
- Ancillary support includes a unit secretary, OB techs, and LPNs (based on census and availability)
- Unit averages 60–65 deliveries per month (approximately 650/year)
- 24/7 in-house OB/GYN and CRNA coverage; pediatric coverage provided by neonatal nurse practitioners
- EMR systems used: Epic (EHR), Obix (fetal tracings), and GE monitors (fetal monitoring)
- Schedule is 12-hour night shifts, weekends only (Friday through Sunday)
- Must be able to flex between the L&D and Mother Baby units
- Scrubs are provided on the unit
- Active OH RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required (must obtain within 6 months if not currently held)
- ACLS preferred
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Recent OB, ED, or critical care experience preferred
- Epic EHR experience preferred
- Must pass a pass/fail EKG exam (two attempts allowed; study guides provided)
- Proof of address and candidate SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One supervisory reference required for consideration
- Responsibilities include electronic fetal monitoring, conducting vaginal exams, caring for the mother/fetal dyad, resuscitation and stabilization, breastfeeding support and education, and discharge teaching and planning
- Patient population spans neonates through geriatric, with primary focus on obstetrical and newborn patients
- Local candidates are accepted; candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
