Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Corrections healthcare team. The LPN will provide essential nursing care to inmates within a secure correctional facility, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining safety and compliance with facility regulations. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a structured, security-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assessments, vital signs, and basic medical treatments
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor and document patient conditions, reporting any changes to the RN or provider
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions
- Assist with intake screenings and health assessments for new inmates
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR systems
- Follow all security protocols and collaborate with correctional officers to ensure a safe environment
- Support infection control and maintain hygiene standards within the facility
- Educate patients on health conditions, medications, and preventive care
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility healthcare regulations
Requirements:
- Active, unrestricted LPN License
- BLS Certification by AHA
- Covid Card
