  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (8-hour day shifts, 40 hours/week)\n
  • Location: Split time between two modern healthcare facilities located in Port Jefferson and Smithtown, NY (approximately 13 miles apart) in Suffolk County, Long Island. Enjoy the vibrant communities and scenic waterfronts these towns offer during your assignment.\n
  • Orientation: All orientation hours are billable\n

  • Associate degree in Electronics or completion of Electronic Technical Trade School\n
  • Minimum 1 year of Biomedical Technician or biomedical equipment technician experience\n
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic schematic drawings and technical manuals\n
  • Strong analytical, communication, and troubleshooting skills—experience supporting clinical/medical equipment preferred\n
  • Basic knowledge of electricity and electronics principles and theories\n
  • Familiarity with electronic/electromechanical test equipment and calibration tools\n
  • Proficiency with Windows platforms and Microsoft Office applications for documentation and data entry\n
  • Basic typing, data entry, and accurate record-keeping skills for service logs and maintenance records\n
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, stretch, reach, and handle delicate items; able to carry/lift up to 15 lbs\n
  • Excellent verbal and listening skills for collaboration with clinical staff and vendor representatives\n

  • Perform performance testing, repair, calibration, preventive maintenance, and safety testing of medical electronic and electromechanical equipment\n
  • Evaluate, test, and screen medical devices for hazards and functional performance to support patient safety\n
  • Install, wire, uncrate, assemble, and commission new medical devices and systems with attention to manufacturer specifications\n
  • Install manufacturer modifications and upgrades with minimal supervision; maintain device configuration and modification records\n
  • Order repair parts, maintain a technical library, and manage spare parts inventory for clinical equipment\n
  • Inspect and test rental or loaner medical devices for performance and safety prior to clinical use\n
  • Assist in developing and updating safety policies, test procedures, and device efficiency documentation\n
  • Coordinate and conduct in-service training and orientation for clinical staff; assist in orientation of new biomedical employees\n
  • Participate in committees, manufacturer technical service schools, and continuing education to stay current on new technology and testing procedures\n
  • Maintain on-call status as required and assist in weather or life?threatening emergencies as needed\n
  • Address and assist with reasonable accommodations for special needs (age, language, disability) when applicable\n
