\n Travel Nurse opportunity for an experienced Med/Surg RN in Dothan, Alabama — night shift, 13-week travel contract, competitive weekly pay $1,640–$1,730. Perfect for Med-Surg and Telemetry RNs seeking travel nursing jobs and Alabama nursing jobs.\n

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,640 – $1,730\n
  • Location: Dothan, AL (36301) — Southeast Alabama travel nursing job\n
  • Setting: General Med/Surg Overflow / Telemetry Unit (2 East)\n
  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 4/13/2026 – End: 7/13/2026)\n
  • Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:00); scheduling flexible (3x12 or 4x12)\n
  • Hours per Week: 36\n
  • Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required\n
  • Orientation: 16 hours (non-billable)\n
  • Scrub Colors: All Navy or Navy pants and White top\n
\n\n Job Requirements / Qualifications\n
    \n
  • Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg RN experience (travel nurse experience preferred)\n
  • Active Alabama RN license or Compact RN license in good standing\n
  • BLS (AHA) required\n
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification required\n
  • Proficient with electronic charting systems\n
  • Comfortable working high-acuity patients with ratios of 1:6 or 1:7\n
  • Experience administering and titrating drips (Cardizem, Tridil, Amiodarone)\n
  • COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions accepted for COVID; flu exemptions must be documented)\n
  • Must reside outside a 90-mile radius from Dothan, AL (per travel nursing policy)\n
\n\n Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Deliver high-quality medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care to adult and geriatric patients\n
  • Manage patient assignments safely at 1:6 or 1:7 ratios in a busy Med/Surg overflow/telemetry unit\n
  • Administer and monitor IV drips and cardiac medications (Cardizem, Tridil, Amiodarone)\n
  • Perform central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, IV starts, and blood product administration\n
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, phlebotomy, radiology, and pharmacy\n
  • Document patient care accurately and timely using charting systems\n
  • Participate in block booking and required weekend coverage\n
\n\n
