  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks (91 days)\n
  • Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)\n
  • Hours per Week: 36\n
  • Unit: Blood Cancer / BMT (8 beds, Central Tower, 4th floor)\n
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 4:1\n
  • EMR: Meditech\n
  • Equipment: Telemetry, cardiac monitoring\n
  • Dress Code: Royal Blue Scrubs\n
  • Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekends\n

    • BLS (Basic Life Support)\n
    • ONS Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certification\n

    • ONCC Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN)\n

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based oncology nursing care for patients undergoing chemotherapy, biotherapy, and bone marrow transplant procedures\n
  • Administer chemotherapy and biologic therapies per protocols and monitor for infusion reactions and toxicities\n
  • Administer blood products and monitor for transfusion reactions following institutional and blood bank guidelines\n
  • Use telemetry and cardiac monitoring equipment to assess and respond to patient status changes\n
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, pharmacists, social work, case management) to coordinate treatment plans, symptom management, and discharge planning\n
  • Document thoroughly and maintain accurate medical records in Meditech; ensure effective communication during handoffs\n
  • Provide patient and family education on treatment protocols, expected side effects, symptom management, and post-discharge care\n
  • Float to Med-Surg as needed and participate in rotating weekend coverage to support unit staffing\n
  • Promote a compassionate, patient-centered environment for individuals and families affected by blood cancers\n
