American Traveler is seeking an X-Ray Tech for a Level II Trauma Center radiology department in Montgomery, AL, requiring fluoroscopy, surgery, and trauma experience along with ARRT certification.
Details- Acute care hospital setting with 492 beds, Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, and Primary Stroke Center designation
- Works primarily in the main radiology department with floating to different areas within the department
- Inpatient and outpatient patient population including adults and occasional pediatric patients (outpatients and ED)
- 1:1 patient ratio with an average of 4 patients per hour (~40 patients per day)
- X-ray procedures include fluoroscopy, surgery, portable, trauma, and diagnostic imaging; O-arm experience preferred
- CT procedures include biopsy drainage, trauma, angiogram, and stroke perfusion (strongly preferred)
- Equipment includes GE and Siemens fluoro rooms, Konica DR room, Siemens and GE X-ray rooms, GE and Carestream portables, and all-GE CT equipment
- Charting is done via Cerner EMR
- 10-hour mid shifts starting at 11:00 AM, 40 hours per week
- Weekend rotation required, typically once per month
- On-call is available on a voluntary basis
- Holiday coverage varies per hospital policy
- Scheduling is managed through Smart Square with no self-scheduling
- Current BLS and ARRT certification required
- ARRT certification in CT required for CT work; state license required if applicable
- CT and/or MRI registry or state license preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience considered with strong relevant skills; first-time travelers considered with at least 2 years of experience
- Fluoroscopy, surgery, portable, trauma, and diagnostic X-ray experience required
- CT angiogram experience required; stroke perfusion experience strongly preferred
- DEXA experience is a plus
- O-arm experience preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
- One reference from a charge-level supervisor or above from the past 12 months required for consideration
- SSN, DOB (day and month), and copies of certifications required for consideration
- Former permanent staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler
- Perform X-ray and CT imaging across multiple modalities including fluoroscopy, portable, trauma, surgical, diagnostic, and CT-guided procedures
- Orientation includes one 8-hour hospital orientation session followed by 2–3 shifts on the unit with a day shift tech
- Interviews are conducted via SimpliFi
- Scrubs of any color are acceptable
