Pay Rate: $70/hr

Duration: 13 Weeks Contract

Guaranteed Hours: 36

Shift: 12hr Nights

Job Summary: .

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department (ED) team as an ED Boarder. The RN will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients who have been admitted to the hospital but are awaiting an inpatient bed, ensuring their needs are met while they remain in the ED. This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Description / Comment:

  • This opening is for an ED Boarder Registered Nurse. Their home unit will be the ED, and they will be used in boarders but will be floated to MS units as needed.
  • Must have ED and MS/Tele experience to be considered.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience is required.
  • AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS and NIH
  • Critical Care - Trauma, Stroke, Cardiac, General Medicine.
  • Does NOT accept local candidates within 50 miles!
  • Floating is expected.
  • Expected to work every other weekend.
  • Expected to work every other holiday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide continuous nursing care for admitted ED boarder patients awaiting inpatient beds.
  • Monitor patient conditions, including vital signs, symptoms, and overall well-being.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered.
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Educate patients and families on care plans and hospital processes.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
  • Assist in transitioning patients to inpatient units when beds become available.
