Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Adults (Must have critical care experience to work in a high volume ER, Level 1 Trauma Center)
SCHEDULING DETAILS AND CHARTING
• Shift hours: 3x12s, nights 7p-7a
• Charting: EPIC experience required
• Weekend Requirement: May be EOW or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block

• RTO: ALL requests must be included with the submission.

• Call off Policy: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2-weeks.

• Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract.

• Accept First-Time Travelers: Yes. (1 year travel experience preferred)

• Locals Accepted? No. Refer to the Submittal Instructions for radius rule criteria

• Pending License Accepted: Yes. Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner by the VA State Board of Medicine required. **Other state licenses accepted, but will be required to obtain 90 day temporary authorization while VA perm license issues

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

• BLS, ACLS

• RRT: Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)

• CRT not accepted

REQUIRED CLINICAL SKILLS
========================
• Must have critical care experience to work in a high volume ER, Level 1 Trauma Center including Neurotrauma, cardiovascular services, and medical/surgical ICU patients

• Aerosol and medication delivery systems (mask, trach, MDI, Medihaler); skilled in administering Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Pulmicort, Mucomyst, racemic epinephrine, inhaled Flolan, inhaled steroids, bicarbonate, and lidocaine.

• Competent in ABG interpretation and ventilator management (BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC, flow-by, troubleshooting high-pressure alarms, weaning from mechanical ventilation).

• Airway management: Extubation, oral/nasal airway placement, suctioning, sputum collection, tracheostomy care.

• Proficient in oxygen therapy and nebulizer setups (handheld, T-piece, trach collar, ultrasonic)

UNIT DETAILS AND FLOATING

• Ratios: 1:25; Patient Population: Serves adolescents, adults, and geriatrics

• Protocols: Robust Assess and Treat protocol in place, with ventilator management and liberation policy

• Equipment: Servo I, Servo U, V-60 BiPAP, Optiflow heated high flow, iNO with the iNOvent, and LTV1200

• Floating: Will be required to float within skillset
