American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with at least 1 year of recent Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience for a 13-week night shift contract at an acute care hospital in Nebraska.

- Acute care hospital setting at a Level 1 trauma center \n
- Inpatient respiratory therapy coverage across all hospital floors and areas \n
- Patient population spans neonates through geriatrics \n
- Ventilators in use include Dräger, Servo I, and CareFusion (Heliox and NICU use only); BiPAP devices include Vision, V60, V30, and Respironics S/T; high-flow therapy uses Airvo2 \n
- Charting via Epic (experience required) \n
- 12-hour night shifts, 7p–7a \n
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend for night shift \n
- Holidays are rotated with permanent staff \n
- Floating to different areas throughout the hospital within the RT capacity is required \n
- Team-based scheduling \n

- Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience \n
- Recent Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience required \n
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS (AHA), and CRT or RRT via NBRC; NRP and PALS preferred \n
- Active state or compact (NLC) RT license required at time of consideration — pending licenses will not be accepted (license required if applicable) \n
- Proficiency with EKGs, bedside bronchoscopies, and bedside spirometry \n
- Driver's license required for consideration (used to verify residence is at least 50 miles from the facility) \n
- 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire \n
- Candidates must not be currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity \n
- \n
- Therapists cover a wide variety of patient acuity levels daily, providing an opportunity to work across multiple care settings within the hospital \n
- A hospitalist and intensivist are in-house 24/7, and a lead therapist is present on each shift \n
- Travelers will never be the sole RT in-house \n
- Orientation consists of 3 x 12-hour shifts \n
- RTO must be requested upfront; no more than 7 days per 13-week contract, and no additional RTO will be approved after consideration \n
- Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to comply will result in contract termination \n
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; driver's license is used to verify permanent address \n
- Candidates who were directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside firms will be considered \n
