Position Name: Travel RN Med Surg/ Float

Location: Pontiac, MI 48342

Start Date: ASAP

Employment Type: Full-time, Travel, Contract, Temporary

Contract Length:13 weeks-Accepting Local and Travel Candidates

Pay Rate: Local-$1800 to Travel-$1980 weekly

Unit: Med Surg,

Shift: 12 Hours; Nights, 7p-7.30a

Schedule: 36 hours / week guaranteed, 3 shifts per week, every other weekend

Position Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse: 2 years - Required
  • Med Surg Nursing experience: Recent/Current 2 years Required
  • Willing to float to similar units Required
  • Prior travel or contract assignment experience Required
  • Education, License and Certification Requirements:

  • ASN or an equivalent Required
  • BSN or an equivalent Highly preferred
  • RN License for State of MI - Required
  • BLS Certifications from AHA - Required
  • ACLS Certification from AHA Preferred
  • Job Description:

    • Provide all aspects of Nursing care for patients in Med Surg and float to similar units.
    • Establishes a therapeutic relationship and creates a detailed plan of care with the patient and family, mutually determining the aspects of care which are most important.
    • Evaluates the effectiveness of plans and interventions to promote optimum achievement of established goals. Initiates and maintains open communication with other members of the team to assure that the patient and family receive the full scope of interdisciplinary expertise and services with a coordinated and integrated plan of care.
    • Communicates with patients, families, subordinate staff and peers to ensure that plans and associated interventions are understood, operationalized and revised, as appropriate.
    • Implements nursing actions in accordance with established standards of nursing practice and established policy.
