Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This travel position offers a rewarding opportunity to serve as a Special Education Teacher for students in grades 3 through 6 in Los Altos, CA. Working as the lead classroom teacher and case manager, you will play a vital role in providing tailored educational support to a caseload of approximately 11 students with special needs.

The assignment runs from around March 16 to June 3, with a schedule of up to 40 hours per week across five days, excluding school holidays and breaks. This role requires a current MMSN licensure, ensuring you are fully qualified to implement individualized education plans and support student growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading classroom instruction and managing a special education caseload
  • Collaborating with staff, families, and related service providers to develop and execute individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Monitoring student progress and adapting instructional strategies accordingly
  • Maintaining clear and comprehensive documentation as a case manager
  • Promoting an inclusive, supportive learning environment tailored to each student’s needs

Preferred qualifications and experience:

  • Valid MMSN teaching licensure
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students (3rd to 6th grade) in special education settings
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and foster a positive classroom culture
