Travel OR RN (Transplant) opportunity in Weston, FL — 13-week contract at a teaching hospital supporting complex liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplants.

Join a renowned teaching hospital in beautiful Weston, Florida as a Travel Operating Room RN specializing in solid organ transplant surgery. This high-acuity travel nursing job is ideal for experienced perioperative nurses and transplant RNs ready to support complex liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant procedures in South Florida (Broward County).

\n\nJob Details – Travel Nurse / Operating Room RN (Transplant)\n

  • Position: Travel Operating Room RN – Transplant (Travel Nurse, Perioperative RN)\n
  • Location: Weston, FL 33331 (Weston, Broward County, South Florida)\n
  • Start Date: March 23, 2026\n
  • End Date: June 22, 2026\n
  • Duration: 13-week contract\n
  • Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour days (06:45–17:15)\n
  • Hours per Week: 40\n
  • On-Call: 1 shift per week plus two 12-hour weekend call shifts per month (details reviewed during interview)\n
  • Setting: Short-term acute care hospital | Teaching environment | Transplant OR\n
  • Charting/EMR: Epic (preferred) — experience with Epic EMR is a plus for OR RNs and transplant nurses\n
  • Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs\n
  • Orientation: Facility orientation; EKG and Pharm testing during orientation (maximum of 2 attempts each)\n
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,120 - $2,230\n
\n\nQualifications / Job Requirements\n
    \n
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of direct Liver/Transplant OR RN experience (required)\n
  • Transplant Experience: Hands-on experience with liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant procedures required (organ implantation experience required; procurement-only experience not accepted)\n
  • Skills & Equipment: Proficient with Misonix/CUSA; strong general OR skills including sterile technique and surgical counts\n
  • License: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; pending license may be accepted\n
  • Certifications: ACLS and BLS required at submission; NIHSS must be obtained prior to start\n
  • Teaching Environment: Comfortable supporting a teaching hospital environment, including precepting students and training new staff\n
  • Onboarding: Able to complete time-sensitive onboarding modules promptly once confirmed\n
  • Screening: Must be nicotine-free; drug screen includes nicotine (cotinine)\n
  • References: Two references from a direct supervisor/manager, ANM, or director required\n
\n\nResponsibilities – Transplant OR Nurse / Perioperative RN\n
    \n
  • Provide perioperative nursing care for solid organ transplant procedures (liver, heart, lung, kidney) and other OR cases as needed\n
  • Scrub and/or circulate as assigned, maintaining sterile technique, surgical counts, and patient safety standards\n
  • Operate and troubleshoot specialized OR equipment, including Misonix/CUSA and electrosurgical units\n
  • Perform accurate specimen handling/labeling and adhere to Universal Protocol/time-out procedures\n
  • Document intraoperative care clearly and on time in the EMR (Epic preferred)\n
  • Participate in the call rotation and respond promptly to urgent transplant cases\n
  • Promote infection prevention, laser/fire safety practices, and a culture of continuous learning in a teaching setting\n
  • Support time-sensitive transplant workflows by coordinating closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and the interdisciplinary transplant team\n
