What is the position?
The UAV (Unmanned aerial systems) Pilot and Trainer participates on a multidisciplinary product development team. The ideal candidate will have military experience and have an interest in both performing sUAS (Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems) flights and conducting customer training on operation of the RedTail RTL-450 LiDAR system. They will be expected to travel to customer demonstrations as well as military test events. Expected to travel to onsite training of end users of the system as well as attend marketing events.
What will I get to do?
- Perform test flights on several different sUAS (Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems) platforms.
- Assist with coordination and planning of test events and demonstrations.
- Attend and participate in test events and demonstrations.
- Coordinate and perform training of end user on the operation of our LiDAR system.
- Provide feedback on the LiDAR system and user interface to the engineering team.
- Develop and refine flight procedures, training material, and system documentation.
What qualifications do I need?
- U.S. Citizenship, ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.
- High school diploma.
- Able to work onsite at 4D Tech Solutions in Fairmont WV.
- Willingness to travel up to 1-2 weeks per month.
- Experience operating sUAS.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- This position requires the candidate to possess and maintain a valid FAA Part 107 certification. If a candidate does not have a valid FAA Part 107 certification, they will be required to obtain the certification within the first four weeks of employment.
- Valid driver's licenses.
What additional characteristics will help me thrive?
- Military experience. (Strongly Preferred)
- Current FAA Part 107 certification and extensive sUAS flight experience.
- Bachelor of Science in a relevant/related field (engineering/surveying/etc ).
- Excellent and writing and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Experience with operating LiDAR systems and processing LiDAR data.
- Familiarity with photogrammetry and hyperspectral imaging and processing.
- Familiar with surveying/GIS concepts and equipment.

Compensation
$55,281.58 - $92,319.82 The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data. When determining a salary for this role, the following factors may be taken into consideration - contract-specific affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience. The estimate displayed represents the salary range for this position and is just one component of Cognosantes total compensation package for employees. It is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, nor a promise of any specific pay for any specific employee.
