General job duties. Types of procedures required. Perform general ultrasound exams including small parts, abdomen and OB/GYN independently. Must be proficient in OB scanning as this is a high percentage of exams performed. Ability to assist with IR/Radiologist procedures requiring ultrasound guidance. Ability to perform breast ultrasound and breast procedures. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. Ultrasound equipment: GE Logiq E10 and S8, Philips CX-50. EMR EPIC, PACs - SECTRA Required skills and minimum years of experience. Two years experience in a fast paced environment. Proficiency in all exams in general job duties description above. Strong scanning abilities in OB and Breast required. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Both AB (abdomen), OB/GYN & BR specialty registries preferred. Floating to other units/departments. No Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept. 100 bed hospital and busy clinic sonographers perform 10-12 exams per 8 hour shift. Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program. Sonographer will be orientated to department procedures, policies and scan protocols by lead sonographer in department. Expect traveler to be able to scan independently within 1 week of starting. |
Comments:50% breast (certification not required) and 50% OB/AB Shift: 8 hour days Call: one evening every 3-5 weekdays (4:30 PM to 8 AM) and one weekend, every 3-5 weeks. Weekend call is from Friday at 4:30 PM to 8 AM Monday. Must be comfortable giving preliminary findings to ordering provider when on-call. Not able to provide a chaperone when on call or working alone.
