Cibola General Hospital is hiring**
We're seeking an Ultrasound Technician to join our team of compassionate caregivers. Our 25-bed critical access hospital allows our compassionate caregivers to provide excellent patient care in an environment that supports them in their professional growth and development with the latest technologies. Cibola General Hospital is one hour from Albuquerque and close to Santa Fe. Cibola General Hospital provides services in general surgery, 24-hour Emergency care, Intensive Care, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics, Pathology, Pediatric Dentistry, Podiatry, Primary Care and Radiology with X-ray, CT, MRI. We have three operating rooms including a room for scopes. Clinics, Lab services, Pharmacy, Cardiopulmonary, and Rehab, and skilled care beds are provided.
Schedule
- 3 twelve-hour day shifts or 4 ten-hour day shifts
- Days to be determined or negotiable
- After-hours call: 2 nights a week and every 3rd weekend for emergency cases only
Qualifications
Education
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography required
Licensure / Certification
- ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification required or equivalent national credential
- New Mexico State Ultrasound/Medical Imaging License required
- Current CPR certification required or enrollment in the next available class

- Strong working knowledge of anatomy, pathology, and current ultrasound procedures
- Participation in continuing education to maintain licensure and certification
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and safely move equipment
- Employment in accordance with Cibola General Hospital hiring policies
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations as ordered by physicians
- Operate stationary and mobile sonography equipment
- Position and transfer patients safely while ensuring comfort and dignity
- Explain procedures to patients and address questions or concerns
- Select appropriate transducers and imaging techniques
- Assist physicians with ultrasound-guided procedures as needed
- Transfer images to PACS and complete all exam documentation
- Maintain ultrasound rooms and equipment in clean, safe working condition
- Maintain accurate patient logs and records
- Follow sterile technique and infection control standards
- Participate in supply inventory management
- Maintain CPR certification and participate in continuing education
- Provide excellent customer service and patient-centered care
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with hospital and departmental policies
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Radiology and/or Administration
