UMCSC hiring Disaster Recovery Case Managers The South Carolina Conference of The United Methodist Church is looking to hire Disaster Recovery Case Managers to work in the following areas: Edgefield, Saluda, and Orangeburg. Employment Type : Full-Time, Grant-Funded for One-Year (with possibility of 2nd year) Location: Field-based in disaster-affected counties in South Carolina Position Summary: The Disaster Recovery Case Manager provides direct support to individuals and families impacted by federally declared disasters. This role involves assessing survivor needs, developing recovery plans, coordinating services, and advocating for resources to support full, long-term recovery. The position requires compassion, organization, and a commitment to walk alongside survivors with dignity and care. Key Responsibilities: Conduct intake and comprehensive needs assessments with disaster survivors Develop and manage individualized recovery plans Coordinate with VOAD agencies, contractors, and nonprofit partners to secure needed resources Provide referrals for housing, financial aid, mental health support, and spiritual care Maintain accurate documentation and case notes using secure data systems Participate in community outreach, Long-Term Recovery Committees, and collaborative planning efforts Work with local churches and volunteers to extend compassionate care and assistance Attend required trainings and adhere to confidentiality and ethical guidelines Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field preferred Minimum of 2 years experience in case management, disaster response, or social services Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work independently and in a mobile/field-based setting Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and trauma-informed care experience Familiarity with the structure and mission of The United Methodist Church is a plus Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required The Annual Conference Lay Servant Academy (Train the Trainer) will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM Those who will attend will register through […] #J-18808-Ljbffr
