ESSENTIAL JOBFUNCTIONS:

Thisposition reports to Associate Director of Union Operations and i nspects, maintains, and repairs basic equipment and facilities to ensure propertymeets established standards and to prevent further damage.
Assists with construction, and operational maintenance as needed.

The University Union Facilities Technicianis a member of the University Union operations staff with the primary responsibility of maintaining the University Union & Dining equipment,furniture, and building facilities.
This position will perform proper preventative maintenance, building & equipment repairs and assist inthe replacement of items as needed.
This position will work to create a safe and inclusive environment for all UW Green Bay students whereall feel a sense of place and pride.

This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Utilizes equipment to repair and maintain standardmachinery, equipment, and facility property to prevent further damage and ensure optimal operation.
  • Perform preventative, diagnostic, and repair work on specialized food serviceequipment & facilities.
  • Performs routinefacility inspections and monitors cleanliness.
  • Troubleshoots, escalates, and documents issues according to established policies andprocedures.
  • Receives, inspects, inventories,and distributes deliveries to appropriate entities under general supervision.
  • Assists trades, crafts, vendors, and technical staff with construction, design, andoperational maintenance as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of professional work experience in buildingoperations, facility management, custodial care, and equipment repair
  • Experience providing preventive, diagnostic, and repair work on commercialequipment
  • Demonstrated attention to detail inwork environment
  • Possession of or eligibilityto obtain a valid driver's license upon appointment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Professional experience working in aUniversity or College environment
  • Experience working on food service equipment
  • Experience working with the TMA Systems formanaging work orders
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to learn and adapt to newtechnology
  • Trade experiencein plumbing, electrical, HVAC, Maintenance Tech

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to lift and maneuver items up to 50 lbs.
    alone or with the assistance of others
  • Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time and be able to walk around thebuilding
