Job Summary:

Charleston Collegiate School is seeking a full-time Humanities teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Successful candidates will be creative, energetic, and highly skilled teachers who are passionate about student-centered, collaborative, experiential learning. Candidates should also have a proven track record of success working with high school students. Ideal candidates will have experience teaching both high school English and Social Studies. At Charleston Collegiate, we combine English and Social Studies into a double-period to foster collaborative, interdisciplinary, project-based learning. Salary range: $50-60K, commensurate with experience.


Charleston Collegiate School (CCS) is an independent day school which strives to recognize, nurture, and challenge each of its students. Located on Johns Island, SC twenty minutes from Charlestons historic district, CCS is the only co-educational, non-sectarian, preschool through 12th grade, independent school in Charlestons metropolitan area.


CCS is a supportive learning community that coaches students to become lifelong learners. A CCS education focuses on the pillars of project-based learning, entrepreneurship, and outdoor education.   • A willingness to participate in student-life activities e.g., advisory, club leadership, coaching, after-school programs
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject discipline, e.g., Education or mathematics.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years teaching experience

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Independent school experience
  • Advanced degree / postgraduate qualification
  • The ability to teach other subject disciplines and elective courses
