Position Overview
As Principal Product Manager for Marty for Advertisers, you will shape the advertiser experience and multi‑agent AI architecture behind Walmart Connect’s agentic advertising assistant. This role sits at the frontier of applied AI, defining how intelligent agents collaborate to build, optimize, and troubleshoot campaigns at Walmart scale.
Responsibilities
You are the PM of record for how advertisers interact with Marty. You define the workflows, goals, and outcomes that matter to advertisers, and you translate those into the workflow definitions that Marty’s orchestration layer executes. You are the voice of the advertiser inside the AI system.
You will partner with Engineering and Data Science to define a suite of high‑impact skills that power Marty’s ability to create and diagnose, analyze, and optimize advertiser campaigns. You will influence what each skill does, how it is evaluated, when it is invoked, and how it evolves.
Lead development and management of product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical feasibility.
Drive organization‑level decisions using advanced analytics, customer insights, and experimentation to optimize product outcomes.
Guide cross‑functional teams in delivering scalable product solutions, managing risks, dependencies, and launch execution.
Influence senior leadership through data‑driven storytelling and strategic communication to advance product vision.
What You’ll Bring
10+ years of product management experience, with at least 3+ years owning platform, infrastructure, or developer‑facing products at a senior/principal level.
Deep technical fluency with AI/ML systems; you can whiteboard an agent architecture, reason about LLM tradeoffs (latency vs. quality, context window management, model selection), and hold your own with senior engineers.
Experience with multi‑agent, agentic AI, or complex orchestration systems; you’ve shipped products where multiple AI components collaborate, chain, or coordinate (RAG pipelines, multi‑step workflows, tool‑using agents, etc.).
Exceptional ability to translate deeply technical concepts into clear product strategies, executive narratives, and cross‑team alignment.
Experience with retail media or programmatic advertising platforms; understanding of campaign management, auction systems, and advertiser workflows.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related area and 9 years’ experience in product management.
