We have partnered with an engineering design and consulting firm in the Fulshear, TX area to provide them with a Utility Engineer. Please review the below description and let us know if you are interested.

Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Utility Engineer:

#1. Must have BS Degree with PE License.

#2. Must have experience creating and maintaining Utility Layout sheets.

#3. Must have experience creating utility line work DGN's and KMZ files.

#4. Must have knowledge of TxDOT and UAR standards, specifications, policies, and procedures.

#5. No more than 3 jobs in the last 10 years.

Responsibilities of the Utility Engineer:

  • Utility coordination, utility management, utility conflict resolution, SUE investigations
  • Obtaining Utility Plans, Specification & Estimate (PS&E), utility agreements, schematic designs, and TCPs.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable federal and state laws, policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines including TxDOT UAR's.
  • Assist supervising professional and administrative staff.
  • Responsibilities may also include maintaining client relationships and close monitoring of project schedule and costs.
  • Review, signing, sealing of Test Hole data sheets

Requirements of the Utility Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree with P.E. in Civil Engineering from an accredited program and work in Civil engineering / Utility industry
  • 3+ years of work experience within the field of transit and / or DOT highway design, including coordination and / or SUE Investigations.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and highway design programs (Bently MicroStation V8i, ORD / GEOPAC Series 4 -SS4-or higher) desired for use in completing tasks.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and work alone or within a team environment
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Working experience in prioritizing and organizing work assignments
  • Experience in participating during progress meetings with a variety of utility companies
  • Experience in finding resolutions to utility conflicts
  • Experience creating and maintaining Utility Layout sheets
  • Experience creating utility line work DGN's and KMZ files
  • Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policy.

Preferred Qualifications of the Utility Engineer:

  • TxDOT Precertification
  • Experienced software skills, such as Bluebeam, MicroStation V8i, ORD, Project Wise, etc.
  • Transit-related engineering experience including Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), Light Rail Transit (LRT), planning, ITS, facilities, and systems.
  • Experience working on highway and freeway design projects (PS&E), including horizontal and vertical geometry design, and utilities.
  • Experience in schematic interpretation.
  • Recent experience with and knowledge of TxDOT and UAR standards, specifications, policies, and procedures.
  • Positive relationships with potential clients in Central Texas such as TxDOT, CTRMA, Transit Agencies, counties, and municipalities.
  • Experience dealing with stakeholders, government agencies and private and public utilities.

Other Key Requirements:

  • 100% in-office role.
  • No sponsorship or Visa holders. No Corp-to-Corp.
