We are highly motivated to hire a candidate with knowledge and experience in custodial work involving a variety of cleaning tasks in public and staff areas at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, WA.

About the Role:
This position will handle litter management, floor care, restroom maintenance, cleaning windows and doors, event setup and tear down, cleaning balconies and banquet hall facilities and providing customer service during large events and programs.

About the Team:
The Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center (WKCAC) maintains one of the most active competition schedules in the country. These all-day competitions include high profile televised national and international events that have a lasting impact on King County's image in the region and country. WKCAC is also open to the public for team training, lap swims, family swims, and swimming lessons. WKCAC also has a banquet hall available for weddings, parties, and company events.

Job Duties

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Perform heavy-duty cleaning and related maintenance work during highly participated sporting events and banquet hall functions.
  • Clean and maintain stadium seats, concourses, corridors, stairways, rooms, and large gathering spaces.
  • Safeguard exterior sidewalks, patios, and stairwells; using blowers and pressure washers as needed.
  • Perform high volume trash management, including collecting recycling and compost.
  • Respond to spills and biohazardous incidents; clean and disinfect area and equipment; properly dispose of contaminated waste.
  • Complete work assignments efficiently using initiative, problem-solving skills, and good judgment.
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

Qualifications You Bring:
  • Demonstrated experience with basic janitorial cleaning techniques and cleaning products.
  • Experience in the use and care of cleaning equipment.
  • Experience operating floor scrubber, floor buffer, and other applicable cleaning equipment.
  • Computer experience to complete timesheets, read and respond to email, and perform some administrative tasks.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Work Location: This position is located at King County Aquatics Center, 650 SW Campus Dr., Federal Way, WA 98023
  • Work Schedule: This full-time position works a 40-hour work week. The work schedule is Saturday - Sunday 7 AM - 5:30 PM and Monday - Tuesday 11 AM - 9:30 PM. This position is covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is overtime eligible.
  • Union Representation: This position is represented by Service Employees International Union, Local 925.
  • Physical Requirement: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
