This position is responsible for using specialized equipment in order to complete vascular histories and physicals of patients to aide in the diagnosis of vascular disease and to determine therapy options. The incumbent may be expected to perform the duties of this position within the mobile department. This position provides direct patient care and may be required to access and administer medications within their scope of practice and according to state law.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules appointments for patients.
  • Collects medical information and patient histories.
  • Conducts vascular histories and physical exams of patients.
  • Performs various tests using specialized equipment, ensuring the appropriate use of equipment.
  • Analyzes patient histories and interprets test results using national statistics.
  • Conducts follow-up studies.
  • Orders and maintains supplies.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Demonstrated potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.
  • Ability to provide care to the population served.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development.
  • Ability to assess data regarding the patient's status.
  • Ability to provide care as described in the department's policies and procedures manual.

Qualifications

Qualifications Required

  • Registry eligibility in Vascular Technology - candidate must obtain one of the indicated registrations within one year of hire.

Licenses Required

  • Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • One of the following
  • Current certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • Current certification as a Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) through the Cardiovascular Credentialing International.
  • Current certification as a Registered Technologist Vascular Sonography RT(VS) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Additional license requirements as determined by the hiring department.
