Job Overview:
As a Veeam Systems Engineer L3, you will spearhead the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's Veeam environments including more traditional Veeam Backup & Replication as well as Service Provider Console, Cloud Connect, etc. You will work closely with various teams across to ensure data protection, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
Responsibilities:
System Design & Implementation: Design and implement the company's Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam Service Provider Console, Cloud Connect, in a multi-tenant environment. This includes server architecture and implementation, software installation, and configuration of backup and replication jobs. Ensure Enterprise backup databases are configured and managed properly. Confirm multi-site and 3-2-1 rule is applied to backup jobs.
System Administration & Maintenance: Manage and maintain the multiple Veeam environments to ensure optimal performance. This includes performing upgrades/patches, managing capacities, and ensuring systems uptime, and escalating cases to Veeam support as necessary to provide swift resolutions.
Backup & Recovery Management: Oversee the organizational backup and recovery processes. Ensure all data is backed up according to RTO and RPO SLAs for both internal and multi-tenant use. Manage data recovery planning and perform periodic exercises to demonstrate restores and readiness in case of primary source data loss.
Disaster Recovery Planning: Contribute to the company's disaster recovery strategy. Implement disaster recovery solutions using Veeam Best Practices. Perform call tree and tabletop exercises for DR and BC for both internal and client teams. Should be able to perform Veeam DR independently if required by business.
Troubleshooting & Support: Handle internal escalated support issues related to the Veeam environment. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and escalate externally to Veeam Support as required.
Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce security controls in the Veeam environment. Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to data protection. Should be aware of immutability concepts and latest offerings by Veeam on immutability.
Documentation & Reporting: Document all system configurations, ITIL procedures, and changes. Prepare regular reports on system performance, backup status, and compliance.
Cloud Components : Should have exceptional knowledge on Veeam SaaS products like Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure and Veeam Backup for AWS, and Google.
