Vehicle Software Test & Development Operations Engineer About the Role:?We are seeking a highly capable and self-directed Senior Vehicle Software Test & Development Operations Engineer to lead vehicle-level software validation and development operations across embedded domains—chassis, body, thermal, and more. This role is critical in ensuring high software quality through robust in-vehicle testing and operational readiness of the development fleet. You’ll collaborate closely with software, calibration, integration, and test engineering teams to plan, execute, and debug vehicle-level test campaigns, while driving day-to-day development activities with a high degree of autonomy. This role will also require travel to winter test proving grounds and other company test sites to support seasonal validation efforts and major release milestones. Key Responsibilities:Own and lead vehicle-level test planning and execution for pre-merge and post-merge software builds across multiple domains (chassis controls, body systems, thermal, etc.)Drive end-to-end development fleet readiness including software flashing, configuration, instrumentation setup, and release coordinationOperate and evaluate vehicles in structured and exploratory test routes, validating embedded feature behavior and performancePartner with technicians and garage teams to manage vehicle setup, diagnostics, and resolution of hardware/software issuesLead issue triage and debugging efforts using CAN tools (e.g., CANalyzer, Vehicle Spy), log analysis, and collaboration with engineering ownersDocument, track, and escalate software issues with clear context, reproduction steps, and logs in tools like JiraContribute to the creation and improvement of vehicle-level test processes, test plans, and validation workflowsTravel as needed to proving grounds (e.g., winter testing), test tracks, and company engineering sites to support vehicle testing and fleet operationsAfternoon, weekend, or nighttime testing may be required depending on development needs and test schedulesProvide mentorship to junior engineers and operators on validation best practices and vehicle test procedures Basic Qualifications:5+ years of experience in vehicle-level software validation, systems integration, or embedded developmentStrong proficiency with CAN tools, diagnostic interfaces, and log analysis for embedded systemsDemonstrated ability to operate development vehicles safely and confidently in a test environmentHands-on experience working with cross-functional teams including SW engineers, technicians, and test operatorsSolid understanding of automotive embedded systems, including body modules, thermal management, and chassis control ECUsProven track record of debugging complex vehicle-level issues Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field Accredited proving ground driver trainingExperience with electric vehicle platforms and modern vehicle software architectureFamiliarity with software release tools and test case management systemsWillingness and ability to travel to remote test sites (including cold weather and high-altitude locations)Experience supporting vehicle bring-up, calibration loops, or multi-domain integration testingKnowledge of functional safety principles (ISO 26262) or automotive process frameworks (ASPICE)   Estimated Min Rate: $40.00 Estimated Max Rate: $60.00Note: Any pay ranges displayed are estimations.
