Position Vice President/Principal Location Chicago, IL (preferred); Indianapolis, IN Job Description Centerfield Capital Partners is seeking an experienced investment professional to play a role in sourcing and executing investments and managing portfolio companies. The role involves managing all aspects of private equity investing, including investment sourcing and evaluation, leading the investment due diligence process, negotiating investment terms, and overseeing investments post‑closing. The position is an excellent opportunity for an investment professional with a proven track record of sourcing and executing debt and/or equity investments seeking a leadership role within the private equity industry. Key Responsibilities Represent the Centerfield brand externally and clearly communicate our strategy, investment interests, and approach to value‑creation via outbound solicitation, in‑person meetings, and conference attendance Assist with efforts around deal sourcing, including building and managing relationships with Centerfield’s network of deal referral sources, including other private credit and equity funds, independent sponsors, investment banks, and other advisory firms Lead the evaluation and execution of investments, including Centerfield’s internal and external due diligence process and the negotiation and legal documentation of the terms of investment. Manage investments post‑closing, including serving in the capacity of a board member or observer to portfolio company boards of directors and overseeing portfolio performance Establish and cultivate relationships with Centerfield’s key constituents, including investors, coinvestors, advisory firms, and portfolio company management teams Support firm development and operations through leadership and participation in certain projects and critical workstreams necessary to manage the firm Key Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field; MBA, CFA, or relevant advanced degree preferred but not required Minimum 10 years of experience in private equity, corporate finance/development, or commercial or investment banking, with a demonstrated track record of sourcing and executing debt and/or equity investments Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a deep understanding of financial modeling and negotiations Poised and articulate with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills Motivated self‑starter who can collaborate effectively in a small team environment Organized and attentive to details with the ability to multi‑task and meet deadlines Established relationships with deal flow sources such as private credit and equity firms, independent sponsors, and investment bankers preferred but not required Overall compensation commensurate with experience with incentive opportunities based upon individual success and overall firm performance.
