Fetch Veterinary is seeking a skilled and dedicated Veterinary Surgery Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Surgery Technician, you will work closely with our surgical team to provide high-quality care to our patients undergoing various surgical procedures. Your expertise and compassion are critical in ensuring the success of our surgical services.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians in surgical procedures, including patient preparation, anesthesia administration, and monitoring
  • Prepare surgical equipment/supplies and utilize proper sterilization protocols including autoclave and gas sterilizers
  • Ensure the cleanliness and sterility of the surgical suite
  • Monitor patients during surgery and post-operative recovery
  • Administer post-operative pain management and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians
  • Collect and analyze laboratory samples for diagnostic tests
  • Provide compassionate care and comfort to patients and their owners
  • Assist with the scheduling and coordination of surgical procedures
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification as a Veterinary Technician is preferred
  • Previous experience as a Surgery Technician is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and anesthesia administration
  • Excellent technical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility with work schedule, including availability for on-call, weekend shifts and holidays
