Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate nursing care to emergency and critical care patients
- Monitor vital signs and physical condition of patients
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Perform emergency procedures such as intubation, IV catheter placement, and blood draws
- Assist in the triage process for incoming patients
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' condition and treatment plans
- Support the veterinary team in all aspects of patient care during overnight shifts
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician, with a focus in emergency or critical care preferred
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), or Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) is preferred
- Proficient in emergency care skills, including IV catheter placement, intubation, anesthesia monitoring, and urgent patient care
- Strong communication skills, ability to work independently, and remain calm under pressure
- Flexibility to work overnight hours, including weekends and holidays
