Join our team at Fetch Veterinary as a Veterinary Technician in our Internal Medicine department! We are a family owned Emergency and Specialty Veterinary hospital. We are committed to providing the highest quality care to pets in our community. As a Veterinary Technician in our Internal Medicine department, you will work closely with our team of experienced veterinarians and technicians to provide comprehensive medical care to pets with a variety of complex internal medicine conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians in all aspects of patient care, including handling, restraint, and administration of medications
  • Obtain thorough patient history
  • Perform diagnostic tests and procedures, including blood work, urinalysis, radiography, and ultrasonography
  • Assist with specialized procedures such as endoscopy, colonoscopy, rhinoscopy, bronchoscopy and Computed Tomography
  • Administer treatments and medications as prescribed by veterinarians
  • Monitor and document patient responses to treatment
  • Maintain accurate and organized medical records
  • Provide compassionate and informative communication and education to pet owners

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification as a veterinary technician preferred
  • Previous experience working in Internal Medicine highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary procedures, techniques, and complex disease processes
  • Proficiency in anesthetic administration and monitoring
  • Adept in medical math calculations including oral medication, injectable medication, fluid rates and CRI calculations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team setting
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
